12 Hours of Stank
On October 6th RB's Racing members, Laureen Coffelt, John Oakes and Chris Irving raced in the 12 Hours of Stank, the second stop of the Midsouth Endurance Series. Laureen Coffelt entered in the women's solo class and had to overcame leg cramps in the latter half of the race. Lauren ended up with 12 laps covering an amazing 111 miles. A few years ago 12 laps would have won the men's class. Stanky Creek is a rooty, twisty single track trail system, so there were no easy miles in there.
John Oakes found that out the hard way, as a tree leapt in front of him on the 2nd lap, resulting in a dislocated shoulder. Three hard laps later he called it quits as the pain was too much to endure. I'm sure those were some of the most difficult laps every done at Stanky Creek.
Chris Irving coming of a broken ankle three months ago was unable to compete solo and teamed up with the Ripper Clan 2 to contest the expert 3 man team race. The Ripper Clan 2 finished 4 minutes down from Ripper Clan 1 to finish 2nd overall with 17 laps
Next up is the Lakeland 250...Bring it on
